What Are Your Priorities for Sleepy Hollow?

Each year, New York State gives millions of dollars in "Downtown Revitalization Initiative" grants. Sleepy Hollow is applying again, and this time is seeking public input for it. The Village has suggested 11 possible projects and is asking folks to pick their 3 favorites. Several projects are interesting, and three of them stand out.

The first two include traffic calming measures. (Hopefully they'll incorporate the recommendations in the Environmental Advisory Committee's 2018 "Walkability Workshop Report," which Mayor Wray tanked out of spite.):

* Beekman Ave. Sidewalks and Decorative Lighting
* Streetscape and Intersection Improvements

The other project would vastly improve the experience of walking into Sleepy Hollow from the Tarrytown train station by replacing the giant parking lot between Cortlandt St and Valley St with a new building that has storefronts, some offices, and new apartments.

* Valley and Cortlandt Mixed-Use Building

Help at Eco Fair on Oct 1

We are participating in the Eco Fair at Patriots Park on October 1. Can you lend a hand? Chat with folks about how safer streets make communities better for everyone. The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm. (Setup/breakdown take about an hour before/after.) Let us know what times you can help out. Even if you can't help, stop by, it'll be great to see you.
