7/31/24 Update: Bike Adventures

August 1: Lyndhurst Jazz Ride

A short, pretty ride to relax on the lawn at Lyndhurst, overlooking the Hudson River sunset, while listening to music presented by the amazing folks at Jazz Forum Arts. Add to your joy by bringing food, drink, blanket, chairs, etc.
Meet: Thu. August 1, 5:45 pm, Washington St entrance of Patriots Park

August 3: Loop Day

• Tarrytown --> Ossining --> Haverstraw --> Nyack --> Tarrytown
• 20 miles of trail riding, eating and drinking:
  • Old Croton Aqueduct, ferry ($4.50), River Trail (dirt path with some hills), Tappan Zee Bridge
• We'll be taking lots of breaks, so don't freak out about the mileage
• Meet: Sat. August 3, 9:30 am, on the OCA at Bedford Rd (Route 448)

Hudson Valley Happy Hour

• Poughkeepsie <--> New Paltz <--> Kingston
• 2 days of easy, beautiful rail trail riding, eating and drinking:
  • Day 1: train to Poughkeepsie ($12.50), cycle 25 miles to Kingston
  • Night 1: informal camping or motel
  • Day 2: cycle 25 miles to Poughkeepsie, train home ($12.50)
• Really, this is easy. It will be a series of short rides with breaks for rests, refreshments, swims
• Meet: Saturday [TBD: 8/17 or 8/24], board 9:29 am train in Tarrytown

Train to Trail to Home

• Poughkeepsie --> Carmel --> Tarrytown
• 2 days of beautiful rail tail riding:
  • Day 1: train to Poughkeepsie ($12.50), cycle 40 miles to Carmel
  • Night 1: informal camping
  • Day 2: cycle 30 miles to Tarrytown
• Again, this is easier than it sounds. It will be a series of short rides with breaks for rests, refreshments, swims
