Cycling Accommodations Proposed in Draft of Route 9 Complete Streets Plan

The New York State Department of Transportation released the Draft of the final Design Report for the Route 9 Complete Streets Preliminary Engineering project on September 19, 2025. We reviewed the drawings in Appendix A (table of contents) and put together the following summary of how people cycling would travel the length of the corridor, along with our suggested improvements.

To get an idea of what our suggestions look like, see our Possibilities for Route 9 page.

Please email your comments to the DOT at route9completestreets@dot.ny.gov. The deadline is 5:00 pm on October 17, 2025.
