The extreme heat will have backed off by Saturday, and most of this will be in the morning, which will have nice temperatures.
If you have a monthly pass for Metro North, you can bring up 4 people with you for $1/head. Pick the "Family Fare" on the ticket vending machine.

8:01 train from Tarrytown
8:49 arrive Grand Central ride a loop on the Park Ave viaduct then head down Park Ave to Foley Sq (3 miles)
10:30 Bindlestiff Family Cirkus (http://bindlestiff.org/)
11:15 ride back to GCT
12:45 (or 1:45) train to Tarrytown
(1:00 cars allowed back on the streets)
