Rides to Lyndhurst Jazz

Are you as excited as we are for relaxing summer evenings at Lyndhurst Jazz? They kick off Thursday, July 6th, continuing every Thursday night through August 24th, and we have an idea to make them even more fun this year: biking there together!

We've mapped out a route that starts at Patriots Park, continues through Tarrytown on quiet back streets, with a short stretch on Broadway, then heading into Irvington on the Riverwalk, and delivers us right to the lawn of Lyndhurst.

_BUT_ for this to work, we need a "bike captain" each week. There can be a different captain each week. It's pretty simple. Greet the riders at Patriots Park, then lead the crew on our established route to Lyndhurst. Everyone will be on their own to decide when/how to get home.

We can only advertise a group ride for the days we have captains for, so please sign up today, and spread the word so we can get each night taken care of! Sign up here:

Lobbying for You on Route 9

We recently reached out to Governor Hochul to make sure the State DOT does a great job with the Route 9 Complete Streets design process. The Governor's staff set up a meeting for us this past Tuesday with key NYSDOT staff.

The meeting was productive. We used our time to carefully prebutt the major excuses the DOT throws out to maintain the status quo, plus we provided several real world examples of how to make streets safer and nicer for everybody. Here's the slide deck, if you're curious:

OY!

The price of insurance went up A LOT since last year; it's now over $800! Between that, and the great lobbying we're doing on your behalf, please contribute today:

Bedford Bike Parking

Check out this lovely new cyle shelter at Bedford's train station! It was created via a $10,000 Clean Energy Communities (CEC) grant from NYSERDA.
